Take My Hand

DIRECTOR / OWNER

Carol Levy

Carol earned a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and is licensed in nursery through eighth grade general education studies by the State of New Jersey. Her career in education began over three decades ago when she taught nursery school, and then fourth and fifth grade students, ESL, and students with special needs.
In 1985 when Carol's third child was eighteen months old and it was time to go back to her teaching position she was dissatisfied with her child care option. She decided to open her own childcare in her home. Within a few months she had outgrown her house and took her waiting list and moved into a nearby facility and began a high-quality, nurturing child care center. By 1988 she had outgrown that first facility and luckily found TMH's current location in Leonia, NJ where she has made a happy home for all the TMH families.
In 2007 Carol reached a personal milestone when her granddaughter began attending TMH and now has three grandchildren in the school!
In 2009 Carol began sharing the responsibilities and the running of Take My Hand with two of her children.

ASSISTANT DIRECTORS

Michele graduated college with a B.S. in Family Studies and Social Policy. She worked for Senator Frank R. Lautenberg in Washington D.C. for 4 years but when she decided she was ready to start her family she returned to New Jersey and Take My Hand. She works with the children in the classrooms and with the teachers on curriculum. Her knowledge, warmth and love of children can be felt throughout the school.

Jonathan has a B.S. in business but after working in a cubicle for a few years he decided he is better suited for the playground than the corporate world. So, he returned to the school where his education first began (TMH) and has been happy ever since. When he's not working on schedules, he is putting a toy together or changing batteries in something. Jonathan is always ready to play with the children; whether it's soccer, basketball or hopscotch, he's always available. He also spends time working with the older children on the computers and the iPad. The children adore him and he adores them.

Take My Hand is truly a family endeavor!
